1 Scope

China's national specification for when the main components of an escalator or moving walk must be discarded. It specifies the terms and definitions and the technical conditions for scrapping. An escalator has a service life measured in decades and runs continuously, and the question of when a worn part must be replaced rather than adjusted is the central maintenance judgement. It is also where accidents come from. 3 Terms and definitions
