Scope

GB/T 36541-2018 is the English-translated version of 铈铝合金.

GB/T 36541-2018 is the Chinese product standard for cerium-aluminium alloys used as additives in the production of cast and wrought aluminium alloys.

It covers alloys made by electrolysis or by melting and divides them into three grades, CeAl-20, CeAl-10 and CeAl-5, according to their chemical composition, with grade designation following GB/T 17803.

For each grade it sets the cerium content, with aluminium as the balance, and maximum limits for rare earth impurities, silicon, iron, manganese, copper, nickel and carbon.

It also specifies the test methods, the inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transport, storage and the quality certificate. It was issued on 13 July 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.
