Scope
GB/T 36534-2018 is the English-translated version of 陶粒发泡混凝土砌块.
GB/T 36534-2018 covers foamed concrete blocks filled with ceramsite, made from cement as binder, ceramsite as aggregate and fly ash as admixture, mixed with a foaming agent and water, then cast, cured, demoulded and cut.
It applies to blocks used in the walls of industrial and civil buildings and for thermal insulation.
The standard gives the terms, including volumetric water absorption, the classification and marking of blocks, the raw materials, the requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, together with the product quality certificate, marking, packaging, transport and storage.
A normative annex describes the test for volumetric water absorption. Block producers, builders and testing laboratories can use it for supply and acceptance. It was issued on 13 July 2018 and has applied since 1 June 2019.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions as defined in GB/T 18968 apply to this document.
3.1 Ceramsite foamed concrete block
Cement is used as cementitious material, ceramsite is aggregate and fly ash is admixture, and it is evenly mixed with foaming agent, admixture and water in a certain proportion. After being made into a mixing material with a certain fluidity, it is made of a process of forming, curing, demoulding, cutting, re-curing, etc. in a mold. Quality concrete block, referred to as block.
3.2 Volumetric water absorption rate
When the test piece reaches the state of water absorption saturation, the water absorption volume accounts for the percentage of the test piece volume in the dry state.
