Scope

GB/T 36434-2018 is the English-translated version of 复杂机械手表机心 万年历和打簧机构零部件的名称.

China's national vocabulary for the parts of perpetual calendar and repeater mechanisms in complex mechanical watch movements. These are the two classic complications, and they are the most intricate mechanisms in general manufacture. A perpetual calendar tracks the date through months of unequal length and through leap years without adjustment, using a cam whose profile encodes the lengths of the months over a four-year cycle - a mechanical memory, cut into steel. A repeater strikes the time on demand, sounding the hours, quarters and minutes on gongs by a train of racks and snails released by a slide in the case, and it is generally held to be the hardest thing a watchmaker can build. Both are made of dozens of parts that exist in no other machine, and naming them consistently is the precondition for anyone servicing one. That China now publishes a national standard for this vocabulary says something about where these watches are made.

With the continuous improvement of the design and processing level of domestic mechanical watches, more and more watch manufacturers began to develop and manufacture complex machines. Mechanical watches, such as perpetual calendar watches, reed watches, etc., these types of mechanical watches reflect the precision of the watch and the watchmaker's "work "The spirit of craftsmanship". Timely standardizing the name of the mechanical parts of complex mechanical watches, can apply uniform terminology in the watch industry and promote Sustainability of new technology products. 1 Scope

This standard specifies the name of the perpetual calendar and the spring mechanism components of the complex mechanical watch movement. This standard is applicable to the movement of complex mechanical watches (hereinafter referred to as "mechanical watches") with perpetual calendar and spring function.
