1 Scope

This standard is to minimize asbestos hazards during shipbreaking and to reduce asbestos emissions in the environment and workers exposed to asbestos.

2 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

2.1

Asbestos asbestos

Various fibrous silicate minerals, including asbestos, asbestos, asbestos, asbestos, crocidolite, tremolite

Asbestos-containing material containing asbestos; ACM

Materials with more than one percent asbestos or materials as defined by national regulations.
