Scope
GB/T 36118-2018 is the English-translated version of 气体除菌用聚四氟乙烯微滤膜折叠式过滤芯.
GB/T 36118-2018 covers pleated filter cartridges made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) microfiltration membrane that are used to sterilize gases.
It sets out their classification and the requirements for appearance, bacterial retention, leakage, integrity, resistance, the number of steam sterilization cycles withstood, hot air resistance and oxidant resistance, each with its own test method.
It also gives the inspection rules, with batching, exit-factory and type inspection, and the rules for marking, packaging, transport and storage. Informative annexes relate bubble point pressure, diffusion flow and water intrusion to bacterial challenge levels and give an example of the hot air resistance test.
The standard applies to gas-sterilizing pleated PTFE filter cartridges and can also be used for other gas-sterilizing filters built with pleated PTFE microfiltration membrane. It was issued on 15 March 2018 and has applied since 1 October 2018.
