Scope
GB/T 35790.1-2017 is the English-translated version of 机动车电子标识安装规范 第1部分:汽车.
GB/T 35790.1-2017 is the first part of the Chinese standard on installing the electronic identification of motor vehicles, and it covers cars. The electronic vehicle identification is a passive RFID tag on the windscreen, read by roadside readers, that China has deployed for traffic management, restricted-zone enforcement, tolling and law enforcement; it is the physical layer of a national vehicle identification system. Where and how the tag is installed determines whether it can be read at speed and whether it can be removed and moved to another vehicle, which makes the installation specification part of the security of the scheme rather than a fitting instruction. The standard sets the requirements on the installation position on the windscreen and the tolerance on it, the surface preparation, the adhesive and the tamper-evident construction, the clearances from the frit band, the heating elements, the antenna and any metallic coating that would detune or shield the tag, the installation procedure and the verification reading after fitting, and the records. For a vehicle registration authority, an installer or a carmaker in China, this is the fitting text.

Specification for Installation of the Electronic Identification of Motor Vehicles - Part1: Automobile
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 35790 specifies installation mode, installation location, installation conditions, installation steps and sticking requirements of electronic identification of motor vehicle.
This part is applicable to installation of electronic identification of motor vehicle on automotive front windshield glass and acceptance.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 35789.1-2017 and the following apply.
3.1
aperture for radiowave
area of automotive front windshield glass without film and metal material and used for radio signal transmission
4 Requirements
4.1 Installation Mode
The front of electronic identification of motor vehicle shall face towards front of the motor vehicle; the electronic identification of motor vehicle shall be attached to inner side of automotive front windshield glass through sticking mode.
4.2 Installation Location
The requirements for installation location of electronic identification of motor vehicle are as follows:
a) In case there is aperture for radiowave, see A.1 in Annex A for the installation location; in case there is no aperture for radiowave, it should be installed on the vehicle front windshield glass, horizontally centering and upper in vertical direction; installation location for different vehicle types shall be adjusted based on the actual situations to obtain optimal read performance; see A.2 in Annex A for installation location;
b) The interval between outer edge of the installed electronic identification of motor vehicle and film/metal material shall not be less than 10mm;
c) Installation location shall not affect the visual field or divert the attention of driver.
4.3 Installation Conditions
Installation conditions of electronic identification of motor vehicle shall meet the following requirements:
a) Front windshield glass is clean and dry;
b) For the front windshield glass area where installation will be carried out, there shall be no metal material in it or film on its surface;
c) If installation environment temperature is below 10 degrees C, before sticking, electronic identification of motor vehicle and front windshield glass shall be preheated.
4.4 Installation Steps
The installation steps of electronic identification of motor vehicle are as follows:
a) For front windshield glass with film in its installation location area, the film in installation location area shall be removed.
b) Clean the installation location on front windshield glass with cleaner meeting those specified in QB/T 4086 to ensure the sticking position is clean and dry;
c) Check the electronic identification of motor vehicle against the vehicle registration information;
d) Remove the double-sided adhesive protection paper of electronic identification of motor vehicle, and stick the electronic identification of motor vehicle to the specified installation location on front windshield glass;
e) After sticking, carry out read test for the electronic identification of motor vehicle; if the static read distance fails to meet the requirements of 4.1.7 in GB/T 35789.1-2017 or the electronic identification of motor vehicle cannot be correctly read, it shall be replaced.
4.5 Sticking Requirements
Sticking of electronic identification of motor vehicle shall meet the following requirements:
a) Firmly sticking to front windshield glass, without shedding within 10 years;
b) Adhesive layer thickness is less than or equal to 0.6 mm;
c) The stick area between adhesive layer and front windshield glass is not less than 50% of the area of electronic identification of motor vehicle.
