1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for the determination of the water-soluble content of precipitated hydrated silica by the conductivity method.
This standard applies to sulfuric acid precipitation produced hydrated silica. Other methods to produce precipitated hydrated silica can be used for reference.

3 principle
The conductivity of the solution is the ability of the anions and cations to migrate between positive and negative electrodes, and the conductivity is proportional to the concentration of ions in solution
For example, the conductivity can be indirectly measured by measuring the content of soluble salts.
4 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise noted, use only the following reagents and materials in the assay.
--- Sodium sulfate (Na2SO4), analytical grade;
--- Distilled or deionized water or rather pure water.
