GB/T 34211-2017 is the English-translated version of 铁矿石 高温荷重还原软熔滴落性能测定方法.
GB/T 34211-2017 is the Chinese national method for measuring how an iron ore burden softens and drips when it is reduced under load, the behaviour that decides how a blast furnace runs.
It specifies the test equipment, the test conditions, the preparation of the sample, the test procedure, the calculation of the results and the content of the test report.
It applies to the assessment of natural lump ore, sinter and pellets and of the mixed burden charged to the furnace. The standard carries the usual warning that it does not list every safety issue and that the laboratory is responsible for its own safety measures.
Steelmakers, ore suppliers and testing institutes use it to compare burdens. Issued on 7 September 2017, it has applied since 1 June 2018.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test equipment, test conditions, sample preparation, test procedures, determination of iron ore load reduction soft melt dripping method, Results calculation and test report.
This standard applies to the assessment of the natural lump ore, sinter, pellets and pyrometallurgical properties of integrated charge.

GB/T 20565 defined and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Sample shrinkage
