GB/T 34103-2017 is the English-translated version of 海洋工程结构用热轧H型钢.

This standard covers hot rolled H section steel for ocean engineering structures.

Clause 1 states that it specifies the classification and grades, the order contents, the dimensions, shape, weight and tolerances, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, the packaging, the marking and the quality certificate, and that it applies to H section steel made for offshore structures with a flange thickness of not more than 50 mm, which the rest of the text calls the H-beam.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 222 on the chemical composition tolerance of finished steel and a long run of parts of GB/T 223, among them 223.3, 223.5, 223.9, 223.11, 223.12, 223.14, 223.18, 223.19, 223.23, 223.37, 223.40, 223.54, 223.58, 223.59, 223.60, 223.63, 223.68, 223.69, 223.71, 223.74 and 223.76, whose printed titles are methods of chemical analysis of iron, steel and alloy for phosphorus, silicon, aluminium, chromium, vanadium, titanium, copper, nickel, molybdenum, nitrogen, niobium, manganese, sulfur and carbon.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the classification and grades of hot-rolled H-beams for marine engineering structures, order contents, dimensions, shape, weight and tolerances, Technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificate.

This standard applies to the manufacture of offshore structural flange thickness of not more than 50mm H-beam (hereinafter referred to as H-beam).
