Scope
GB/T 34024-2017 is the English-translated version of 客运架空索道风险评价方法.
GB/T 34024-2017 sets out how the risk of a passenger aerial ropeway is assessed. It states where the assessment applies, the basic principles to follow, the procedure to work through and the documents the assessment has to produce.
It defines the vocabulary the method uses: the cause, the consequence, harm, hazard, the hazardous situation and the failure mode, distinguishing a failure mode from the cause of the failure.
It applies to reciprocating and to circulating passenger ropeways. It cites GB 12352 for ropeway safety, GB/T 12738 for ropeway terms and GB/T 16856-2015 for the guidelines and worked examples of mechanical safety risk assessment. It was issued on 12 July 2017 and has applied since 1 February 2018.
