Scope

GB/T 33094-2016 is the English-translated version of 塑料 抗冲击聚苯乙烯防静电材料.

China's national standard for antistatic high-impact polystyrene compounds. It specifies the classification and naming, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, and the marking, packaging, transport and storage, and it applies to compounds based on polystyrene with antistatic agents, toughening agents and other additives melt-blended into them. High-impact polystyrene is one of the cheapest useful engineering thermoplastics: polystyrene on its own is glass-clear, rigid and brittle, and dispersing rubber particles through it during polymerisation converts it into a tough material that can be injection moulded or thermoformed into housings, trays and panels. What it cannot do, because no hydrocarbon polymer can, is conduct. A moulded polystyrene part accumulates static charge from handling and from separation, and the charge does two things that matter: it attracts dust, which is a problem for anything that must stay clean, and it discharges, which is a problem for anything containing a semiconductor. The trays and carriers that move electronic components through a factory are the largest application, and a single electrostatic discharge event can destroy a device that will not fail visibly until it is in a customer's product. So the antistatic grade exists to make the material dissipate charge rather than hold it, and this standard covers what that grade must achieve. The property that defines it is surface and volume resistivity, measured to GB/T 1410, and the standard requires the mechanical properties of the base material to be retained alongside it. Issued on 13 October 2016 and in force since 1 May 2017.

1 Scope

China's national standard for antistatic high-impact polystyrene compounds. This standard specifies the classification and naming of anti-shock polystyrene anti-static materials, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packages Equipment, transportation and storage. This standard applies to polystyrene as the matrix, adding antistatic agents, toughening agents and other additives, etc., by melt blending modified to form Of anti-shock polystyrene anti-static special materials.
