Aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

---The risk warnings related to file applications have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the 2016 edition);

---The term "mold name" has been changed to "product name" (see 5.1, 2016 version 5.1);

---The term "mold drawing" has been changed to "product drawing" (see sections 5.1, 5.2.5, 5.3.1, and 5.6; sections 5.1, 5.2.5, 5.3.1, and 5.6 in the 2016 version);

---The provisions for situations where drawing data is uncertain have been revised (see 5.2.3, 2016 version of 5.2.3);

---The term "lock" has been changed to "sequential mold opening device" (see 5.4.5, 2016 version 5.4.5).

This document adopts ISO 16916:2016 "Technical Specification for Ordering Injection Molds".

1 Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for injection mold quotations (bidding stage) and ordering, and provides details on material procurement, equipment, and injection mold structure (package).

The data includes surface design data and specifies the parameters, operating methods, and warranty terms for the specialized equipment.

This document does not apply to compression molds and die-casting molds.
