GB/T 32636.1-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the bitmap form of Chinese characters at 28 dots — the grid and the point, the representation and the storage format of the dot matrix font, the character repertoire taken from the basic multilingual plane and from the General Standard Chinese Character Table, the character order, and the normative font data in the appendix, which is the deliverable itself rather than a description of it. Part 1 of the series, the Song face; the bold face is Part 2. It replaces GB/T 32636.1-2016, in force from 1 December 2025. Issued on 30 May 2025, it has been in force since 1 December 2025, replacing GB/T 32636.1-2016.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document is GB/T 32636 "Information Technology General Coded Character Set (Basic Multilingual Plane) Chinese Character 28-Dot Matrix Font" Part 1: GB/T 32636 has published the following parts.
— Part 1: Songti;

This document replaces GB/T 32636.1-2016 Information Technology General Multi-Octet Coded Character Set (Basic Multilingual Plane) Chinese Characters Compared with GB/T 32636.1-2016, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical The changes are as follows.
a) The glyphs of some Chinese characters have been changed (see 7.3, 7.3 of the 2016 edition);
b) Added 28-dot Song-style fonts for 74 Chinese characters in the code segment 0x9FA6~0x9FEF of the Basic Multilingual Plane (see 7.3);
c) Added 12 CJK compatible Chinese characters in the Basic Multilingual Plane (located at FA0E, FA0F, FA11, FA13, FA14, FA1F, 28-dot Song-style fonts for the FA21, FA23, FA24, FA27, FA28, and FA29 code positions (see 7.3);
d) Added 14 additional CJK radicals to the Basic Multilingual Plane (located at 2E81, 2E84, 2E88, 2E8B, 2E8C, 2E97, 28-dot Song fonts (see 7.3) with code points 2EA7, 2EAA, 2EAE, 2EB3, 2EB6, 2EB7, 2EBB, and 2ECA;
e) Added 28-dot Song-style glyphs for 196 Chinese characters in the General Standard Chinese Character Table outside the Basic Multilingual Plane (see 7.3).

Introduction
GB/T 32636 "Information Technology General Coded Character Set (Basic Multilingual Plane) Chinese Character 28-Dot Font" is based on GB/T 13000 CJK unified Chinese characters, CJK unified Chinese characters expansion A, CJK compatible Chinese characters (including only those in GB 18030-2022 Compatible Chinese characters included in GB 18030-2022), supplementary CJK radicals (only Chinese radicals included in GB 18030-2022) and the "General Standard Chinese Character Table" The Chinese graphic characters provided by other Chinese characters are based on the standard glyphs given in the "General Standard Chinese Character Table" and are in accordance with the current standard Chinese character glyphs.
Based on the principle of shape arrangement, a 28-dot matrix font of Chinese characters was specifically designed for use in information systems.
GB/T 32636 aims to solve the problem of Chinese character information display in Chinese information processing systems and improve the use of Chinese character font products for information technology.
The accuracy and standardization of Chinese characters are to be improved to meet the development of Chinese information processing and the needs of international information exchange and the standardization of Chinese characters. It consists of two parts.
— Part 1: Song-style font. The purpose is to specify the 28-dot Song-style font for Chinese characters used in information systems.
— Part 2: Bold. The purpose is to specify the 28-dot bold font of Chinese characters for information systems.

1 Scope
This document specifies the CJK unified Chinese characters and their extension A, CJK compatible Chinese characters in GB/T 13000-2025 Basic Multilingual Plane (Contains only compatible Chinese characters included in GB 18030-2022), supplements CJK radicals (contains only compatible Chinese characters included in GB 18030-2022 Radical) and 28-dot Song fonts for 196 Chinese characters outside the basic multi-language plane in the "General Standard Chinese Character Table".
This document is applicable to the design of Chinese character dot matrix fonts in various electronic information products and digital products, and is also applicable to other related equipment.
