Foreword

This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009 and GB/T 20000.2-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions for color measurement used in the textile color fastness test standard. The definition in this standard only in the textile color fastness test standard within the scope of use.

2 Terms and definitions

Chroma

The property of the color used to indicate the degree of deviation of the color from the grayness of the color.

Note. C * ab is the metric scale defined in the CIELAB formula.

Note. The opposing variables are Brightness - Darkness (L *), Red - Green (a *) and Yellow - Blue (b *). The latter two can be further converted to saturation (C * ab) and hue (hab).

Note. X10, Y10 and Z10 correspond to x10, y10 and z10; X, Y and Z correspond to x, y and z. Since x10 y10 z10 = 1, xyz = 1, then x10 and y10 or x and y enough to determine the color.

The F series (F1 to F12), which is defined by CIE as a representative fluorescent lamp, is a recommended illuminating body.
