Scope
GB/T 32546-2016 is the English-translated version of 钢渣应用技术要求.
GB/T 32546-2016 fixes the terms and definitions, basic requirements and technical requirements, including test methods, inspection and acceptance, transportation and storage, for steel slag used as a cementitious material, as aggregate, as a sintering flux, as a flue gas desulfurization agent and as cement raw material, and clause 1 adds that it also covers the technical conditions and requirements for steel slag in each of these application areas.
The same clause states that the standard applies to steel slag used in exactly those five ways.
The contents list gives nine clauses and one normative annex: scope, normative references and terms and definitions, then clause 4 on basic requirements and one clause each for steel slag used as cementing material, as aggregate, as sintering flux, as flue gas desulfurization agent and as cement raw meal, with Annex A (normative) giving the test method for the autoclave expansion rate of steel slag.
Clause 4 requires steel slag intended as a cementing material or aggregate to be stabilized and to undergo iron removal before use, caps its metallic iron content at 2.0 per cent, or 1.0 per cent when it is used in plastering mortar, requires volume stability, sends the metallic iron test to YB/T 4188, sends radionuclide limits to GB 6566, and requires compliance with the national rules on safety, environmental protection and occupational health.
Clause 5 is built out of general provisions and then separate subclauses for cement, concrete, mortar, and bricks and blocks: the supplier must issue a certificate of conformity or an exit-factory inspection report for the steel slag powder giving the manufacturer, the certificate or report number, the specification or grade, the production date, the quantity represented and the inspection results and conclusions for the batch; the powder itself must meet GB/T 20491 and is checked on receipt for specific surface area, fluidity ratio, activity index and soundness; an inspection batch may not exceed 200 t; and powder stored for more than three months must be re-inspected before use.
The dosage provisions send concrete containing steel slag powder to GB/T 51003, and iron and steel slag powder, defined there as a mineral admixture of steel slag powder and ground granulated blast-furnace slag powder in a set ratio, to GB/T 50912, while mortar containing steel slag powder is sent to GB/T 25181 for its properties, to JGJ/T 70 for the test methods and to JGJ/T 223 for site storage, mixing, construction and acceptance.
Clause 2 cites GB 175, GB/T 750, GB/T 1346, GB/T 1596, GB/T 2007.7, GB/T 2419, GB/T 4111, GB/T 6003.1, GB/T 6003.2, GB 50666, GB/T 50912, GB/T 51003, several JC, JC/T, JGJ, JGJ/T, JG/T and JTG documents, and YB/T 140, YB/T 801, YB/T 802, YB/T 804, YB/T 4184 and YB/T 4188, while clause 3 takes over the terms of YB/T 804 and GB/T 18968.
The page shows a genuine English translation that is cut off inside the subclause on bricks and blocks, so the clauses on aggregate, sintering flux, desulfurization agent and cement raw meal are known only by their titles.
It carries ICS 77.140.99 and Chinese classification H 34, it was issued on 24 February 2016 and it has applied since 1 January 2017.
