Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 32444-2015 "General Technical Requirements for Bamboo Furniture". Compared with GB/T 32444-2015, except for structural adjustments... Aside from integration and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added the terms "bamboo strips", "bamboo slivers", "bamboo bundles", "bamboo flat panels", "bamboo fiberboard", "bamboo particleboard", and "bamboo-wood composite board" (see...). Chapter 3 (Chapter 3 of the.2015 edition);

b) The classification has been changed (see Chapter 4, Appendix A, Chapter 4 of the.2015 edition);

c) Added requirements and test methods for wood moisture content, moisture content of wood materials, bamboo materials, and other properties of wood materials (see 5.3, 6.3);

d) Increased appearance requirements for wrinkles and defects in engineered wood products, as well as for castings and other accessible areas in machining processes (see Table 1);

e) The appearance requirements for glass components and stone, slabs and their inlays have been changed (see Table 1,.2015 edition);

f) Some requirements and test methods for surface physical and chemical properties have been removed (see Tables 2, 6.5.1, 6.5.2, and

1 Scope

GB/T 32444-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering bamboo furniture - the material and its moisture content, the joints and their strength, the finish and its resistance, the stability and load tests, and the formaldehyde and other emissions from the adhesives that hold laminated bamboo together. It replaces GB/T 32444-2015, one of the bamboo standards issued across this year. It was issued on 28 January 2026 and has been in force since 1 August 2026, replacing GB/T 32444-2015. The document is under the responsibility of the China National Light Industry Council.
