Scope

GB/T 32270-2024 is the English-translated version of 压力管道规范 动力管道.

GB/T 32270-2024 is the Chinese pressure piping code for power piping.

It fixes the basic requirements for the steam and water pipelines inside the boundary of a thermal power plant: the materials, the design and calculation, the fabrication and installation, the inspection and testing, the safety protection and the thermal insulation and corrosion protection.

Its annexes give the allowable stresses of the materials, the physical properties of common materials, the flexibility and stress intensification factors, the piping layout, the prefabrication group deviations and the calculation of safety relief devices.

Boiler body piping, nuclear power plant piping, heating, ventilation and air conditioning ducts and other ducts of non-circular section, pipes for towers, building structures, storage tanks, mechanical equipment and instruments, and non-metallic pipes are outside it. It replaces GB/T 32270-2015 and was issued and applied from 25 April 2024.
