1 Scope
This Part of GB/T 31556 specifies the terms and definitions, dimension description, measurement method, and test report of sacks made from thermoplastic flexible film.
This Part is applicable to the sacks made from thermoplastic flexible film stipulated in
GB/T 17858.2; namely, single-wall or multi-wall packaging sacks made from the thermoplastic flexible film; this Part is not applicable to the retail goods packaging sacks.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions stipulated in GB/T 17858.2 are applicable this document.
3.1 Length of sack (a)
The distance between the lateral edges of the sack; it is measured from the middle of the sack perpendicular to the bottom of the sack.
3.2 Width of sack (b)
The distance between the longitudinal edges of the sack; it is measured from the middle of sack paralleling to the bottom direction of the sack.

5 Measurement Method
5.1 Tools
Ruler or other measuring tools with measuring range no less than the length of sack, the scale value is 1mm.
5.2 Test procedures
Place the sack on the horizontal plane, make it without gussets. Measure the dimension of sample sack as per the measuring points of the sampling sack stipulated in Chapter 4. Measure twice at least, take the arithmetic mean of the two measured values as the test result, accurate to 1mm.
6 Test Report
The test report shall contain the following contents:
a) Description of necessary information of sample;
b) Standard for measurement basis;
c) Measurement result, accurate to 1mm;
d) Special situations in the measuring process;
e) The operation not stipulated in this Part, or the conditions or factors that may influence the measurement result.
