Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

This document is Part 1 of GB/T 30924 "Plastics - Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVAC) Molding and Extrusion Materials". GB/T the following parts have been released for 30924.

---Part 2: Sample preparation and performance determination.

This document replaces GB/T 30924.1-2016 "Plastics - Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVAC) Molding and Extrusion Materials - Part 1.

Compared with GB/T 30924.1-2016, the main technical changes in "Naming Systems and Classification Basis" are as follows, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial modifications.

as follows.

a) Part of the scope has been changed, modifying the description of additional requirements for special purpose materials in character group 5 to match the character group.

b) The order of the character groups in the naming feature items group has been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the 2008 edition);

c) Added a description of rounding down the mass fraction of fillers and/or reinforcing materials, and added information on reducing the mass fraction of fillers and/or reinforcing materials.

The 10% numerical designation and the designation of mixtures of multiple materials and/or multiple forms of materials (see 4.3);

d) Letter codes for fillers and/or reinforcing materials have been added (see Table 2);

e) Added explanations regarding the optional designations for the base color (N) and/or grain (G) in character group 3 (see 4.4);

f) Letter codes for recommended uses, processing methods, and important properties have been added (see Table 3);

g) The effective number of digits for melt mass flow rate has been changed (see Table 5, Table 4 in the 2008 edition).

This document is modified to adopt ISO 21301-1:2019 "Plastics - Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVAC) - Molding and extrusion materials - Part 1".

Compared with ISO 21301-1:2019, this document has undergone the following structural adjustments.

---4.6 Paragraph 2 corresponds to the last paragraph of Chapter 1 in ISO 21301-1:2019.

The technical differences between this document and ISO 21301-1:2019, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.

a) ISO 1043-1 (see 4.1 and 4.2) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 1844.1 to adapt to my country's technical conditions, and [the following is added].

b) ISO 8985 (see 4.2) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 30925 to adapt to my country's technical conditions and increase operability.

Actual nature;

c) ISO 1043-2 (see 4.3) has been deleted; the specific letter codes have been specified in this document to improve operability.

d) A description of the rounding of filler and/or reinforcing material mass fraction has been added (see 4.3), and letters for filler and/or reinforcing material have been added.

The codes (see Table 2) are used to facilitate the application of this document;

e) Added explanations regarding the omission of the symbols for natural color (N) and/or particle (G) in character group 3 (see 4.4) to make the standard more standardized.

GB/T 30924 "Plastics - Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVAC) Molding and Extrusion Materials" is proposed to consist of two parts.

---Part 1: Nomenclature System and Classification Basis. The aim is to establish a standard model applicable to ethylene-vinyl acetate materials.

Naming conventions and classification principles.

---Part 2: Sample Preparation and Performance Determination. The aim is to establish a sample preparation method suitable for ethylene-vinyl acetate materials.

And the performance testing items, methods and conditions.

1 Scope

This document defines a nomenclature system for ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVAC) copolymer thermoplastic materials, which serves as the basis for classification.

Different types of EVAC plastic materials are specified with the following characteristic property values, recommended uses and/or processing methods, and importance.

It is classified and distinguished based on energy, additives, colorants, fillers, and reinforcing materials.

a) Vinyl acetate content;

b) Melt mass flow rate.

This document applies to copolymers of ethylene and vinyl acetate with a vinyl acetate mass fraction of 3% to 50% (approximately 25% molar fraction).

This document applies to materials that are typically in powder, granule, or broken-grain form, and are either unmodified or modified with colorants, additives, fillers, etc.

This document does not imply that materials with the same name necessarily have the same properties. This document does not provide information for describing the specific uses and/or applications of materials.

Engineering data, performance data, or process parameters required for the processing method. If necessary, the test methods specified in GB/T 30924.2 shall be used to determine these parameters.
