Scope
GB/T 30900-2025 is the English-translated version of 炼钢用LF炉精炼渣团块.
GB/T 30900-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering the pressed or pre-melted briquette dropped into a ladle furnace as flux, slag former and desulfuriser — the chemical composition with the separate limits for low-silicon and low-sulfur steel grades, the drop height that decides whether the briquette reaches the ladle whole rather than as dust, the impurities, the environmental requirements in use, the inspection, and the bag weight tolerance. It replaces GB/T 30900-2014, under the China Iron and Steel Association. In force from 1 February 2026. Issued on 1 August 2025, it has been in force since 1 February 2026, replacing GB/T 30900-2014.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1: Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 30900-2014 "LF furnace refined slag agglomerates for steelmaking". Compared with GB/T 30900-2014, except for the structure In addition to adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Added requirements for low silicon and low sulfur steel grades (see Table 1);
b) Added other element restrictions (see Table 1);
c) The drop height has been changed (see 4.4, Table 1 of the 2014 edition);
d) Added requirements for impurities (see 4.6);
e) Added environmental protection requirements for the use process (see 4.7);
f) Factory inspection and type inspection have been added (see 7.2 and 7.3);
g) The regulations on the deviation between the actual bag weight and the marked weight have been changed (see 8.1, 7.1 of the 2014 edition).

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Auxiliary raw materials
It is used to improve the properties and composition of the refined slag system during the molten steel smelting process, has a certain shape and strength, and is formed by pressing or pre-melting.
3.2 low-silicon steel
A steel grade with a relatively low silicon content. Broadly speaking, it refers to a steel grade with a silicon content of less than 0.03%.
Note. This type of steel has a wide range of uses, mainly in the fields of automobile manufacturing, construction industry, machinery manufacturing, welding structures, electronic appliances, etc.
3.3 low-sulfur steel
Steels with lower sulfur content generally have a sulfur content of 0.005% to 0.01%.
4 Technical Requirements
4.1 The chemical composition of the agglomerates shall comply with the requirements in Table 1.
