Scope
GB/T 29657-2013 is the English-translated version of 钇镁合金.
GB/T 29657-2013 is a product standard for yttrium magnesium alloy.
Clause 1 states that it specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificates of the alloy, and that it applies to yttrium magnesium alloy produced by electrolysis, by the melting method and by the reduction method, used mainly in making automotive engine and high-temperature magnesium alloy additives; the page records no exclusions.
Clause 3 is the requirements clause and opens with 3.1 Chemical composition, which refers the composition to Table 1 and allows supplier and purchaser to agree separately where there are special requirements.
Table 1 sets out six grades, designated 175030A, 175030B, 175025A, 175025B, 175020A and 175020B, each with a rare earth mass fraction of 30, 25 or 20 per cent within a tolerance of two points and with magnesium as the balance, a minimum Y/RE value of 99.9 or 99.5 per cent, and ceilings on rare earth impurities and on the non-rare-earth impurities silicon, iron, aluminium, copper, nickel and carbon.
Subclause 3.2 on appearance requires the product to be a cast alloy whose surface and fracture are silver-grey and clean, with no visible inclusions and no oxidation powder coming off.
The draft breaks off inside 3.2, so the clauses on test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport, storage and the quality certificate are announced in clause 1 but not shown.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 8170 and GB/T 12690.1. The page gives the Chinese classification as H65 and the international classification as 77.120.99, and estimates the document at about 6,692 words.
The page names no superseded edition; the standard was issued on 6 September 2013 and has applied since 1 May 2014.
