3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Irrigation water quota
The unit area of a certain crop, determined under specified location and hydrological year type, during the preparation period and the entire growth period (each year for perennial crops), is...
Irrigation water consumption.
3.2
Under a specified hydrological year type, for a certain crop during the preparation period and throughout its entire growth period (perennial crops are counted annually), irrigation into the field can benefit the crop.
The amount of water per unit area that is used or beneficial to crop growth, excluding losses from canal transport and field irrigation.
3.3 Irrigation water utilization coefficient
The ratio of net irrigation water volume to gross irrigation water volume in an irrigation district or region during a certain period, or the product of the canal system water utilization coefficient and the field water utilization coefficient.
3.4
The ratio of the total outflow of water from the final fixed channels (pipes) of an irrigation district to the total inflow of water into the head canal during a certain period.
3.5
The ratio of net irrigation water volume of a field to outflow from the final fixed canal (pipeline) during a certain period.
3.6
The weighted average of a certain crop in a region under specified hydrological year conditions, current irrigation district types, and different irrigation methods, based on irrigated area.
