1 Scope

China's national standard for the designation of insert bearing units. It specifies the method of compiling the codes for insert bearings with housings, referred to as bearing units, and for those supplied with accessories, and it applies to bearings for general use. An insert bearing unit is the bearing that is bolted straight onto a machine frame: a wide inner ring ball bearing with a spherical outer surface, held in a housing with a matching spherical seat, so that the unit accommodates the misalignment of a shaft running in two brackets that were never machined in one setting. The inner ring is locked to the shaft with grub screws, an eccentric collar or a taper adapter, and the whole assembly is greased and sealed for life. It is the standard way of supporting a shaft on a conveyor, a fan, an agricultural machine or a piece of process plant, in enormous numbers and almost always as a replacement part. That last point is why the designation matters. When one fails, the person ordering the replacement has the unit in their hand and nothing else, and the code cast or stamped on it has to state which bearing it contains, which housing type it is, how the inner ring locks to the shaft, and what seals and accessories it carries. The standard fixes the composition of the code - the basic code identifying the bearing and the housing to GB/T 7810, JB/T 5303 and their companions, together with the pre-positioned and post-positioned codes that carry the locking arrangement, the clearance to JB/T 5304, the seals, the material and the accessories. Issued on 21 November 2011 and in force since 1 June 2012.

This standard specifies the Outer spherical ball bearings (hereinafter referred to as seat belt bearing) and the preparation method with an attachment seat belt bearing designations. This standard applies to general-purpose Bearings.
