1 Scope

This section provides the deformation of aluminum and aluminum alloy sheet, strip products in the definition of common defects, features, and analyzes the main causes.

This section applies to wrought aluminum and aluminum alloy plate, analysis and determination with defects.

2 Definition of Defects, features and main causes

2.1 Surface of the bubble blister

Plates, sheets and strip surface irregularities of circular cavities or projections. Raised edge sleek, asymmetric top and bottom plates, irregular distribution (Figure 1).

The main causes.

a) ingot surface uneven, dirty, surface segregation depth deeper tumor;

Little b) Milling amount or surface defects, such as. deep dents or marks cutter;

c) the emulsion or into the air between the aluminum plate and ingot package;

d) ingot heating temperature is too high or too long;

e) the heat treatment temperature is too high.

2.2 Burr

Plate, strip sheared, fine edge there is a short wire of varying sizes or sharp and thin metal thorns.

The main causes.

a) cutting edge is not sharp;

b) cutting edge inadequate lubrication;

c) blade clearance and the overlap amount improperly adjusted.

2.3 Water marks waterstain

Plate, strip surface light white or black irregular light waterline marks (Figure 2).
