This standard is equivalent to translate ISO 24408:2005.

Introduction

This standard will work with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) "life-saving equipment (LSA) rule" and related IMO instruments commonly used to assess Accredited position-indicating lights of various products and the relevant requirements of IMO consistency.

Part of the provisions of this standard exceeds the IMO requirements, see the IMO's Recommendation on testing of life-saving equipment [amended by MSC.81 (70) Resolution A.689 (17) Resolution], the contents of the product for testing and inspection of parts without any special requirements. However, Section 2 of the document Require manufacturers to develop quality control procedures to ensure the production of life-saving equipment and marine safety management organization recognized styling products to achieve phase with standards and keep all product testing records have been completed.

This standard specifies the procedures comply with the above requirements. According to the provisions of the standard, manufacturers will be able to verify the products and IMO recommendations consistency.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the various life-saving equipment for use with position-indicating lights of product testing and inspection and labeling requirements, including the lifeboat Lights. Specifically applicable to 1974 in line with international SOLAS as amended (SOLAS) requirements for ships used, in line with IMO the LSA Code, and by the management authority or the National Maritime Safety Agency type approval of position-indicating lights. Position-indicating light manufacturing Addition to complying with IMO requirements, may also consider other fundamental rules adapted to position-indicating lamp.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.

Batch lot

Under the same conditions and within the same time-made products, the products as much as possible with the same type, grade, size and composition.

Ambient temperature 20 °C ± 5 °C temperature.

Freshwater Conductivity of not more than 1800µS water.

Seawater

By dissolving 3.5% compared with the fresh water dilution of sodium chloride prepared from artificial sea water.
