Scope
GB/T 24761-2009 is the English-translated version of 钢平尺和岩石平尺.
GB/T 24761-2009 specifies the terms and definitions, the types and basic parameters, the requirements, the test methods and the marking and packaging of steel and granite straight edges.
Clause 1 applies it to steel and granite straight edges of 400 mm to 2500 mm with accuracy grades 00, 0, 1 and 2, referred to thereafter simply as straight edges, and states no exclusions.
Clause 2 cites GB/T 17163 and GB/T 17164, and clause 3 defines no term of its own, making the terms and definitions established in those two documents applicable instead.
Clause 4, on types and basic parameters, points to Figure 1 for the types of straight edge, names an I-shaped straight edge and a rectangular straight edge among them, and gives a formula for the best support distance, which fixes where the straight edge is to be supported when it is tested; the draft garbles the formula itself, so it is left out here, and the clause adds that the illustrations serve for illustration only and do not show the detailed structure.
The draft breaks off inside that clause, so the requirement, test method, marking and packaging clauses announced in clause 1 are not shown.
The foreword states that Appendices A and B are informative, that the standard was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation, that it is centralized by the national standardization technical committee on measuring instruments (SAC/TC132) and that it was drafted by the China Institute of Metrology, with further bodies taking part in a list the draft garbles. It was issued on 2009-12-15 and has applied since 2010-09-01.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the flat-foot steel and rock square feet of terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, and other test methods, marking and packaging.
This standard applies to the specification of 400mm ~ 2500mm, accuracy rating of 00,0,1 and 2 flat-foot steel and rock flat feet (in Hereinafter referred to as "flat feet").
