Scope
GB/T 24583.7-2019 is the English-translated version of 钒氮合金 氧含量的测定 红外线吸收法.
GB/T 24583.7-2019 is Part 7 of GB/T 24583 and gives the infrared absorption method for determining the oxygen content of vanadium-nitrogen alloy. It applies to vanadium-nitrogen alloys over a measuring range of 0.10 % to 4.00 % by mass.
The sample is placed in a graphite crucible and melted at high temperature in a pulse heating furnace; the oxygen forms carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide, which the carrier gas takes to an infrared detector where they are measured from the infrared light they absorb.
The document lists the reagents and materials, among them magnesium perchlorate, alkali asbestos, tin and nickel capsules, helium or argon carrier gas and a high purity graphite crucible.
It replaces GB/T 24583.7-2009, was issued on 4 June 2019 and has applied since 1 May 2020.

This part is the seventh part of GB/T 24583.
This part is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces GB/T 24583.7-2009 "Determination of oxygen content of vanadium nitrogen alloys by infrared absorption method". This part and Compared with GB/T 24583.7-2009, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- The measurement range was changed from 0.10% to 2.00% to 0.10% to 4.00% (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2009 edition);
---Modified "normative references" (see Chapter 2, Chapter 2 of the 2009 edition);
---Graphite crucible modified from high temperature graphite crucible to high purity graphite crucible suitable for instruments (see 4.12, 4.9 of 2009 edition);
---The carrier gas has increased argon (see 4.10, 4.7 of the 2009 edition);
--- Revised the method of preparation and preparation of the sample (see Chapter 6, Chapter 6 of the 2009 edition);
--- Modified the sample volume (see 7.2, 7.1 of the 2009 edition);
---Modified flux for measurement (see 7.6.1, 7.6 of 2009 edition);
--- Revised "Representation of Analysis Results" (see Chapter 8, Chapter 8 of the 2009 edition);
--- Replace the allowable difference with the reproducibility limit r and the reproducibility limit R of the inter-laboratory precision test data statistics (see Chapter 9, Chapter 9 of the 2009 edition).
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 24583 specifies the infrared absorption method for the determination of oxygen content in vanadium-nitrogen alloys.
This section applies to the determination of oxygen content in vanadium-nitrogen alloys. Measuring range (mass fraction). 0.10% to 4.00%.

3 Principle
The sample is placed in a graphite crucible with a helium flow, and is melted at a high temperature in a pulse heating furnace, and oxygen generates carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide gas from the carrier gas.
The flow is carried into an infrared detector, and the content of oxygen can be measured according to the characteristic that carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide absorb infrared light of a specific wavelength.
