1 Scope

This standard shipowners and fleet management system (FMS) operator selection and implementation of network management services to provide an overview and guidance, including.

a) general guidelines for infrastructure, including broadband networks, data transmission services;

b) the installation guide on board, including the application of service;

c) land-based installation guide, including application, database tools.

This standard does not address the requirements of safety-related systems, such as navigation, radio communication and ship control systems.

This standard does not address the environmental factors associated with FMS.

2 Terms and definitions
