GB/T 23127-2020 is the Chinese standard "Electric appliances connected to the water mains - Avoidance of back siphonage and failure of hose-sets".

Its scope clause reads: This standard specifies the requirements for household and similar electrical appliances to prevent non-drinking anti-siphon flow into the water source, and also specifies the connection of such appliances The requirements of the hose assembly for water supply to the water pressure not exceeding 1MPa.

Note 5. The relevant national regulatory authority may also require the prevention of contamination of drinking water due to inappropriate materials upstream of the anti-reverse flow device. Its clauses include terms and definitions.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for household and similar electrical appliances to prevent non-drinking anti-siphon flow into the water source, and also specifies the connection of such appliances

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Potablewater

It is obtained directly from drinking water sources and keeps the water in the closed-loop system in front of the anti-backflow device.

3.2 Non-potablewater

Water flowing out of the closed-loop system after flowing through the anti-backflow device.

3.3 Backflowpreventiondevice

A device to prevent non-potable water from counter-currently polluting potable water.

Note. For example, air gaps, dynamic anti-backflow devices and pipeline interrupters.
