Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 2296-2001 "Naming Method for Solar Cell Models". Compared with GB/T 2296-2001, the only changes are structural adjustments. Aside from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2001 edition);

b) Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

c) The naming method for photovoltaic cells has been changed (see Chapter 3, Chapter 4 of the.2001 edition);

d) The naming of sub-matrixes and matrix types has been removed (see Chapter 4 of the.2001 edition);

e) The naming method for photovoltaic module models has been changed (see Chapter 5, Chapter 4 of the.2001 edition). Please note that some content in this document may involve patents. 1 Scope

GB/T 2296-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering how a solar cell or module is named - the code that carries the technology, the cell size and count, the power class and the variant, which is what appears on a datasheet and a purchase order. It replaces GB/T 2296-2001, a standard twenty-four years old from before the industry China now dominates existed at scale. It was issued on 31 December 2025 and has been in force since 1 July 2026, replacing GB/T 2296-2001. The document is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This page is published from the official record of the 2025 edition; the clause text of a standard this recent is not yet in circulation, and the figures, limits and tables it contains are those of the document itself, delivered in full with the English translation.

This document describes the naming method for photovoltaic cells and photovoltaic modules, and provides the corresponding codes and meanings. This document applies to photovoltaic cells and photovoltaic modules.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2297 apply to this document.

4 Naming Method for Photovoltaic Cell Models

4.1 Model Composition The naming of photovoltaic cell models consists of four parts. See Appendix A, A.1 for an example of model naming. Photovoltaic cell model numbers generally consist of three parts, from the first to the third, connected by horizontal bars. The fourth part is an optional supplementary section. Points are indicated by parentheses.

4.2 Naming Method The naming method for photovoltaic cell models should comply with the requirements in Table 1.
