Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 2285-1993 "coking xylene". The main technical changes compared with GB/T 2285-1993 as follows.

--- Revised the scope of application and increased the content of the hydrogenation process (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 1993 edition);

--- Revised the normative reference document (see Chapter 2, Chapter 2 of the 1993 edition);

--- Revised the technical requirements of the appearance and added technical indicators of color (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the 1993 edition);

--- Revised the test method (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the 1993 edition);

--- Revised inspection rules (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the 1993 edition);

--- Revised the marking, packaging, transportation and storage and quality certificate (see Chapter 6, Chapter 6 of the 1993 edition);

--- Added safety precautions (see Chapter 7).

1 Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificates of coking xylene and Safety Precautions.

This standard is applicable to coking xylene obtained from the process of hydrogenation and rectification of crude benzene/light benzene recovered from coke oven gas.
