Scope
GB/T 22765-2008 is the English-translated version of 标枪.
GB/T 22765-2008 specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transport and storage of javelins for competition and training.
Javelins are classified as competition or training implements and into four athlete categories, with tables of basic parameters giving overall length, centre-of-gravity position, head length, grip width, a full diameter profile from D0 to D9, total mass and tip angle for each category.
The requirements cover circular run-out at the mid-point, roundness of the cross-section, the grip cord, tail rigidity of competition javelins and elasticity of training javelins under static load, corrosion resistance of the tip to QB/T 3826, surface finish, the tapering streamlined profile and materials, each with a corresponding test method.
Acceptance inspection follows GB/T 2828.1-2003 and annual type inspection follows GB/T 2829-2002; the technical parameters are non-equivalent to the equipment provisions of the IAAF Competition Rules 2008.
