Scope

GB/T 22209-2021 is the English-translated version of 船用无石棉纤维增强橡胶垫片材料.

GB/T 22209-2021 is the Chinese national standard for the asbestos-free fibre reinforced rubber gasket material used on ships.

It gives the requirements - the density, the compressibility and recovery, the tensile strength, the sealability, the resistance to oil and to fluids and the behaviour at temperature - the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on marks, packaging and storage.

It applies to the gaskets sealing ship piping systems carrying gas, water, steam, oil and mildly acid or alkaline media up to 350 °C and PN 4.0 MPa, and other equipment and pipework may follow it.

Gasket makers, shipyards and classification surveyors use it. It replaces GB/T 22209-2008, was issued on 20 August 2021 and has applied since 1 March 2022.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

This document is a reference to GB/T 22209-2008 "Non-asbestos fiber reinforced rubber sheet for marine gaskets" and GB/T 22208-2008 "Marine Consolidated revision of "Test Methods for Non-Asbestos Fiber Reinforced Rubber Sheets for Gaskets".

This document replaces GB/T 22209-2008 and GB/T 22208-2008, and the main structure is in accordance with GB/T 22209-2008, which corresponds to The main technical changes are as follows.

a) Added the grades of non-asbestos gasket materials (see Table 3, GB/T 22209-2008 Table 3), and correspondingly increased the performance index requirements (See Table 4, Table 4 of GB/T 22209-2008);

b) The performance index requirements of KQG-001 and KQG-003 grades have been changed (see Table 4, GB/T 22209-2008 Table 4);

c) Added "Asbestos content (threshold value) <=0.1%" (see Table 4) and corresponding test methods (see 5.14);

d) The density test method is changed (see 5.3, Chapter 3 of GB/T 22208-2008);

e) Changed the air tightness test method (see 5.10, Chapter 10 of GB/T 22208-2008).

1 Scope
