Scope

GB/T 22104-2008 is the English-translated version of 土壤质量氟化物的测定离子选择电极法.

GB/T 22104-2008 specifies an ion selective electrode method for determining the fluoride content of soil, with a detection limit of 2.5 µg.

The soil, air-dried and ground to pass a 0.149 mm sieve, is fused with sodium hydroxide at 550 °C to 570 °C in a nickel crucible, leached with hot water and acidified so that interfering cations precipitate as hydroxides; an aliquot is neutralised to the bromocresol purple end point, buffered with total ionic strength adjustment buffer (sodium citrate, or hexamethylenetetramine - potassium nitrate - Tiron) and measured with a fluoride electrode against a saturated calomel electrode, following the Nernst relationship.

The standard sets out the reagents and apparatus, sample preparation, reagent blanks, a logarithmic calibration curve from 0 to 200 µg of fluoride, and the formula for the fluoride content in mg/kg.

The relative error and the relative deviation between duplicate results shall each not exceed 10 %, and notes explain interference from Al3+, Fe3+, other high-valence cations and hydroxide ions and how the buffer at pH 6.0 to 7.0 removes it; this is the first edition.
