Scope

GB/T 21956.2-2024 is the English-translated version of 农林拖拉机 窄轮距轮式拖拉机翻滚防护装置 第2部分:后置式.

GB/T 21956.2-2024 specifies the static and dynamic strength test procedures for rear-mounted rollover protection devices on narrow-track agricultural and forestry wheeled tractors and determines the acceptance conditions for cab, rear fixed or foldable two-post and frame-type devices, together with optional test procedures for the seat belt anchorage device and for foldable rear rollover protection devices.

Clause 1 limits the document to tractors whose lowest point of the front and rear axles has a ground clearance of no more than 600 mm, the lowest point of the differential excluded; whose minimum wheelbase is not greater than 1150 mm with the maximum tyre size fitted on the front or rear wheels, whether the wheelbase is fixed or adjustable and including the case of identical tyres on both axles; whose mass without counterweight, including the rollover protection device and the largest tyres recommended by the manufacturer, is greater than 400 kg in a fixed driving position and, for two-way travel with a two-way seat and steering wheel, greater than 400 kg and less than 3500 kg with a maximum permissible mass below 5250 kg; whose mass ratio (mr) is not greater than 1.75; and which carry a cab, two-post or frame-type device installed partly or wholly behind the seat marking point and leaving an unobstructed shelter area within the height the draft prints as (810 av) mm above that point.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 229, GB/T 3100, GB/T 6236, GB/T 6960.1, GB/T 6960.7, GB/T 12265-2021, GB/T 20118-2017, GB/T 21956.1-2024, GB/T 33641.2 and GB/T 34560.1, in whose entry the automatic draft breaks off.

The page carries no table of contents, so no clause after 2 is shown; the foreword's list of differences from ISO 12003-2:2021 does refer to matter as far as clause 12 and to Appendices A to D, Appendix A being the added annex that sets out the technical changes against the documents this edition replaces.

That list records, among other things, seat anchorage becoming seat belt anchorage in clause 1, the addition in clause 4 of the symbol D' for the deformation of the device at theoretical energy, F' for the loading force required for that energy and H' for the drop height of the additional test pendulum, a changed formula for raising the pendulum above the point of impact in 7.4.1.4, the loading point being measured from the outermost edge of the rollover protection device instead of the centre plane of the tractor in 7.5.3, 7.5.4 and Figure 9, the deletion of the list of countries required to run the low-temperature brittle fracture test, and Chinese references put in place of ISO 2408, ISO 5353, ISO 3776-2, ISO 630-1 to ISO 630-4, ASTM A370 and ISO 80000-1.

The introduction describes the rollover protection device as a structural device fitted to the tractor that protects the operator in the event of a rollover, and says the document translates the ISO standard so that domestic tractor companies can follow the international provisions and export more easily; it is under the National Technical Committee for Tractor Standardization (SAC/TC140).

It replaces GB/T 21956.3-2015 and GB/T 21956.4-2009, was issued on 25 April 2024 and has applied since 1 November 2024.

Introduction

A tractor is an agricultural machine that performs multiple tasks while traveling. Its working parts are complex and its working environment is harsh.

The rollover protection device is a device that is installed on the tractor during farmland operation.

A structural device that protects the operator in the event of a rollover, thereby reducing the possibility of injury to the operator due to a rollover accident.

The standard for rollover protection devices for narrow-track wheeled tractors is of great significance to improving the safety technology level of tractors, reducing accident risks and protecting operators.

In this regard, my country has made great progress in the field of tractor by referring to and studying international standards and advanced foreign standards.

The industry has established a complete set of safety-related standards, including mandatory national standards.

This document translates the International Organization for Standardization (ISO ) standard for rollover protection for narrow-track wheeled tractors and is intended to help domestic tractors Tractor companies understand the provisions of international standards, which facilitates the export of tractors from my country.

International standards classify narrow-track tractor rollover protection devices according to different installation positions, so GB/T 21956 is divided into the following 2 parts.

--- Part 1. Pre-installed. The purpose is to be consistent with international standards and to facilitate testers to use this standard.

--- Part 2. Post-installation. The purpose is to be consistent with international standards and to facilitate testers to use this standard.

The revision of GB/T 21956.3-2015 and GB/T 21956.4-2009 firstly considers the convenience of using this document.

The dynamic test method and static test method of the rear rollover protection device are combined into one document; secondly, the actual situation in my country is taken into consideration.

According to the situation, some contents of the international standard were added, deleted and modified, and the applicability and safety of this document in my country were improved without affecting the use of the standard.

Operability; Finally, the international standard was revised to improve the accuracy of this document. This revision truly achieved the test method The purpose of one-time inspection and global recognition of standards can better promote trade, exchanges and technical cooperation.
