Scope
GB/T 20892-2020 is the English-translated version of 镨钕金属.
GB/T 20892-2020 sets the requirements for praseodymium-neodymium metal produced from praseodymium-neodymium oxide by molten salt electrolysis and used as a magnetic material.
It covers the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marks, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificates. Six designations are defined by chemical composition - PrNd-80NdA, PrNd-80NdB, PrNd-75NdA, PrNd-75NdB, PrNd-70NdA and PrNd-70NdB - named according to GB/T 17803.
Total rare earth content is determined to GB/T 14635, praseodymium, neodymium and rare earth impurities to GB/T 26417 and non-rare earth impurities to GB/T 12690, rounding follows GB/T 8170 and appearance is judged visually under natural scattered light.
Suppliers and purchasers use it for batch inspection and acceptance. It replaces GB/T 20892-2007, was issued on 19 November 2020 and has applied since 1 October 2021.

1 Scope
This Standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marks, packaging, transportation, storage and quality certificates of praseodymium-neodymium metal.
This Standard applies to the praseodymium-neodymium metal, that uses praseodymium neodymium oxide as the raw material, is produced by the molten salt electrolysis method and is used as magnetic materials.

3 Technical requirements
3.1 Product classification
The products are divided into six designations according to chemical composition: PrNd-80NdA, PrNd-80NdB, PrNd-75NdA, PrNd-75NdB, PrNd-70NdA, PrNd-70NdB.
The method of product designation representation shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 17803.
4 Test methods
4.1.1 The analysis method of the total amount of rare earth (RE) is carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 14635. When the total amount of rare earths is more than 99%, the actual value of the total amount of rare earths is calculated by subtraction, namely (100% - sum of non-rare earth impurities).
4.1.2 The analytical methods of praseodymium, neodymium and rare earth impurities are carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 26417.
4.1.3 The analytical methods for non-rare earth impurities are carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 12690 (all parts).
4.2 Numerical rounding
The rounding of numerical values is carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 8170.
4.3 Appearance quality
Conduct visual inspection under natural scattered light.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Inspection and acceptance
5.1.1 The product is inspected by the supplier's quality inspection department to ensure that the product quality meets the requirements of this Standard, and a quality certificate is filled out.
5.1.2 The purchaser shall inspect the received products in accordance with the provisions of this Standard. If the inspection results are inconsistent with the provisions of this Standard, it shall be submitted to the supplier within 2 months from the date of receipt of the product. The supplier and the purchaser shall negotiate and resolve. If arbitration is required, an organization recognized by both parties can be entrusted to carry out the arbitration. Sampling shall be performed jointly at the purchaser's.
5.2 Batch
Products shall be submitted for inspection in batches. Each batch shall consist of products of the same designation.
5.3 Inspection items
