Scope

GB/T 19591-2023 is the English-translated version of 纳米二氧化钛.

GB/T 19591-2023 is the Chinese national standard for nano titanium dioxide. It sets the classification and codes, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, the marking and accompanying documents and the rules for packaging, transport and storage.

It applies to unmodified, uncoated titanium dioxide nanoparticles, which the standard notes are used in functional chemical fibres, high-grade plastics, paints, inks, coatings, electronic ceramics and catalysts and their carriers.

Among the test methods are the determination of volatile matter at 105 °C, of tap density, of pH value, of arsenic, lead and mercury and of ferric oxide content.

It cites GB/T 1706-2006, GB/T 6682-2008, GB/T 19587, GB/T 21354, GB/T 23769-2009 and HG/T 3696.3 among others. It replaces GB/T 19591-2004, was issued on 7 September 2023 and has applied since 1 April 2024.

Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 19591-2004 "Nano titanium dioxide". Compared with GB/T 19591-2004, except for structural adjustment and editing in addition to sexual changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Added a chapter on terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

b) The classification has been changed (see 5.1, Chapter 3 of the 2004 edition);

c) Added code name (see 5.2);

d) The indicator parameters have been changed, adjusted according to the new product classification, and the indicator item of moisture has been changed to 105°C volatile matter (see 6.2, 4.2 of the 2004 edition), the index items and parameters of tap density and iron oxide are added (see 6.2), and the packing density is deleted degree indicator items (see 4.2 of the 2004 version);

e) Change the test method for moisture determination to 105°C volatile matter determination (see 7.5, 5.12 of the 2004 edition);

f) Added test method for determination of pH value of titanium dioxide by gas phase method (see 7.8.2);

g) Test method with added tap density (see 7.12);

h) The test method for determination of arsenic content has been changed (see 7.13, 5.10 of the 2004 edition);

i) The test method for determination of lead content has been changed (see 7.14, 5.11 of the 2004 edition);

j) The test method for mercury content determination has been changed (see 7.15, 5.9 of the 2004 edition);

k) Added test methods for determination of ferric oxide content (see 7.16);

l) The test method for bulk density determination has been deleted (see 5.15 of the 2004 edition).
