Scope
GB/T 18916.12-2023 is the English-translated version of 取水定额 第12部分:氧化铝.
GB/T 18916.12-2023 is Part 12 of the Chinese norm of water intake series and covers alumina. It gives the calculation method for the alumina water intake quota, the quota values and the requirements for quota management, and applies to existing, new and expanded alumina production enterprises.
It fixes the range of water intake - water drawn from surface water, groundwater and urban supply projects, plus water or water products bought on the market - and the supply range, which takes in the Bayer, sintering and combined processes, auxiliary production such as machine repair, transport and air compressor stations, and plant welfare facilities, but not alumina made from high-alumina fly ash.
It cites GB/T 12452, GB/T 18820, GB/T 21534 and GB/T 24789. It replaces GB/T 18916.12-2012, was issued on 23 May 2023 and has applied since 1 September 2023.

This document replaces GB/T 18916.12-2012 "Water Intake Quota Part 12: Alumina Production", and GB/T 18916.12- Compared with 2012, except for structural adjustment and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:
a) Changed the water supply range (see 4.1.2);
b) The measurement of various water quantities has been deleted (see 4.1.2 of the 2012 edition);
c) Changed the water quota quota (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the 2012 edition).
Introduction
Water quota is a technical standard and an important basis for measuring the level of water conservation. basis for rationalizing and conducting water resource justification. The quota standard for water use is to verify the permitted water volume, carry out water-saving evaluation, carrier construction, and standard-to-standard management it is also an important means to implement the most stringent water resources management system.
GB/T 18916 will clarify the range of water intake, the supply range of water intake and the limits of water intake according to the characteristics of water use in different industries.
Metering, stipulates the calculation method of water intake quota, divides the quota index level, and makes requirements for quota management.

4 Calculation method
4.1 General provisions
4.1.1 Scope of water intake
The amount of water extracted by enterprises from various conventional water sources, including surface water (measured by water supply from water purification plants), groundwater, urban water supply projects, and And the water volume of other water or water products (such as steam, hot water, purified water, etc.) purchased by the enterprise from the market.
4.1.2 Water supply scope
The scope of water supply for alumina production includes: the main production (the whole process of alumina products produced by Bayer process or other processes) process; other processes refer to sintering process and combined process, excluding production processes such as extraction of alumina from high-alumina fly ash), auxiliary production (including machine repair, transportation, gas station, air compressor station, power supply rectification, self-owned power plant, etc.) and auxiliary production (including office buildings in the factory, staff canteens, non-operating bathrooms and health stations, toilets, etc.).
4.2 Water intake per unit of alumina product
The water intake per unit of alumina product is calculated according to formula (1).
