Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document is Part 6 of GB/T 17969 "Operating Procedures for Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Registry".

GB/T 17969 has published the following parts.

---Part 5: Registration Form for VT Controlled Object Definitions;

---Part 6: Registration of Application Processes and Application Entities;

---Part 8: Generation of Universally Unique Identifiers (UUIDs) and their use in object identifiers.

This document replaces GB/T 17969.6-2000 "Operating Procedures for OSI Registry Authorities - Part 6" the main technical changes in "Application Processes and Application Entities" compared to GB/T 17969.6-2000, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, are as follows.

as follows.

a) The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2000 edition);

b) The term "a) Application Entity" has been removed (see 3.2 of the 2000 edition);

c) The term "a) International Registration Authority" has been deleted (see 3.3 in the 2000 edition);

d) The term "a) principal integer value" has been added (see 3.4);

e) The term "object identifier" has been changed (see 3.6, 2000 edition of 3.6);

f) The abbreviation "ASN.1" was added, and the abbreviation "ICD" was removed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the 2000 edition);

i) The relevant content of the "AP Registration Procedure" has been amended (see 6.1.1, 2000 version 6.1.1);

j) The relevant content of the "AE Registration Procedure" has been amended (see 6.2.2, 6.2.3, 6.2.4; 6.2.2, 6.2.3, 6.2.4 of the 2000 version);

k) Changes were made to the "Cross-references" section (see 7.1, 2000 version 7.1);

l) The chapter on "Technical Roles" has been removed (see Chapter 8 of the 2000 edition).

This document is modified to adopt ISO/IEC 9834-6:2005 "Information technology - Open Systems Interconnection - Operating procedures for OSI Registry authorities".

Registration of application processes and application entities.

This document has undergone the following structural adjustments compared to ISO/IEC 9834-6:2005.

---Chapter 8 of ISO/IEC 9834-6:2005 has been deleted, and subsequent chapters have been moved forward in their article numbers.

The technical differences between this document and ISO/IEC 9834-6:2005, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.

This document does not need to reference "ISO/IEC 6523-1:1998" and "ISO/IEC 6523-2:1998";

---The term "international registration agency" has been removed from this document if it is not used.

---The abbreviation "ASN.1" used in this document has been added (see Chapter 4);
