This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting is required. This document replaces GB/T 16303-2009 "Ships and Marine Technology - Free-fall Lifeboat Launching Appliances" and Compared with GB/T 16303-2009, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows: Changed "Scope" (see Chapter 1, see Chapter 1 of the.2009 edition);

a) The terms "winch hoisting load" and "winch lowering load" have been deleted (see

3.6 of the.2009 edition);

b) Added "Inspection Classification" (see 6.1);

c) The requirements for "type inspection" and "factory inspection" have been changed (see 6.2, 6.3, and 7.1,

7.2 of the.2009 edition);

d) Added "Packaging", "Storage and Transportation" requirements (see 7.2, 7.3);

e) The "Inspection and Maintenance" requirement has been deleted (see Chapter 8 of the.2009 edition).

This document specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection specifications for free-fall lifeboat launching appliances (hereinafter referred to as free-fall appliances). regulations, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage. 3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 3893, ISO 15516, IMO MSC.48 (66) and the following apply.

3.1 maximum working load The load acting on the runners or spreaders when a free-lowering appliance is lowering a fully loaded lifeboat for which it is intended.

3.2 lightest launching load The load acting on the runners or spreaders when a free-lowering appliance is lowering an empty lifeboat for which it is intended.

3.3 maximum recovering load When the free-falling device recovers the heaviest empty lifeboat with operators (not less than 3 persons) for which it is applicable, the force acting on the sling load.
