This document was drafted in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020

Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of

standardizing documents.

This document is part 5 of GB/T 15856 Drilling screws with tapping screw thread. The

following parts of GB/T 15856 have been issued:

-- GB/T 15856.1 Cross recessed pan head drilling screws with tapping screw thread;

-- GB/T 15856.2 Cross recessed countersunk head drilling screws with tapping

screw thread;

-- GB/T 15856.3 Cross recessed raised countersunk head drilling screws with

tapping screw thread;

-- GB/T 15856.4 Hexagon flange head drilling screws with tapping screw thread;

-- GB/T 15856.5 Hexagon washer head drilling screws with tapping screw thread.

This document replaces GB/T 15856.5-2002 Hexagon washer head drilling screws with

tapping screw thread. Compared with GB/T 15856.5-2002, except for the structural

adjustment and editorial revisions, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The diameter da and the corresponding value are added (see Figure 1 and Table

1);

b) lg is changed to lm (see Figure 1 and Table 1; see Figure 1 and Table 1 of the

2002 edition);

c) r1 is changed to the specified minimum value (see Table 1; see Table 1 of the

2002 edition);

d) The requirements for marks and labels are added (see Chapter 6).

This document is modified in relation to ISO 15480:2019 Fasteners - Hexagon washer

head drilling screws with tapping screw thread.

Compared with ISO 15480:2019, the following structural adjustments are made to this

document:

-- The chapter "Marks and labels" is added;

-- Chapter 7 corresponds to Chapter 6 of ISO 15480:2019.

1 Scope

This document specifies the types and dimensions, technical conditions, marks and

labels, and marking of hexagon washer head drilling screws with tapping screw thread.

This document is applicable to hexagon washer head drilling screws with tapping screw

thread with thread specifications of ST 2.9 ~ST 6.3, made of steel, and of product grade

A.

7 Marking

The marking method shall be in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1237.

EXAMPLE: For a hexagon washer head drilling screw with tapping screw thread with a thread

specification of ST3.5, a nominal length l of 16 mm, and an untreated surface, which is made of steel, of

product grade A, and has the mechanical properties that are in accordance with GB/T 3098.11, the mark

is as follows:
