Foreword

This standard replaces GB/T 14842-1993 "niobium rod." At the time of revision with reference to the United States ASTMB392-03 "niobium and niobium alloy bars, rods, wire specifications." This standard compared with GB/T 14842-1993, the main changes are as follows:

--- Changed to "niobium and niobium alloy bars," according to the content change the standard name;

1 Scope

GB/T 14842-2007 is the Chinese national standard on niobium and niobium alloys rods and bars, in the field of metallurgy. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 23 November 2007 by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 June 2008. This standard specifies the niobium and niobium alloy rod requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation, storage and purchase order (or close Same) content. This standard applies to the rule of the ingot or powder strip billet extrusion, forging, rolling, drawing and other craft production of niobium and niobium alloy rod and square bar.
