Scope
GB/T 14231-2021 is the English-translated version of 齿轮装置效率测定方法.
GB/T 14231-2021 is the Chinese national method for determining the efficiency of a gear unit. It gives the test rig and its equipment, the requirements on the test, the test methods and the procedure, the processing of the data and the records and report that close the test.
It applies to gear units with their own closed housing that transmit power, and not to units built into compressors, pumps or engines nor to drives that do not use gears.
Gearbox makers, machine builders and test houses use it. It replaces GB/T 14231-1993, was issued on 9 March 2021 and has applied since 1 October 2021.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 14231-1993 "Method for Measuring the Efficiency of Gear Units". Compared with GB/T 14231-1993, the main technology The changes are as follows.
--- Change the title of Chapter 3 "Main Code" to "Symbols" (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the.1993 edition);
--- Use the test instrument specified in JJG924 that is no less than 1 or 0.5, or other test instruments with equivalent accuracy in 4.1 "The instrument" is changed to "The accuracy of the test instrument should not be lower than the level 0.5 specified in JJG924 (or equivalent). "(See 4.1,.1993 edition 4.1);
--- Change the "testing instrument used in the test must be qualified by the relevant measurement department, and should be used within the validity period." changed to "test The test equipment should meet the requirements of JB/T 6876 and JB/T 6877."(See 4.2, 4.2 of the.1993 edition);
--- Incorporated "5.1 Test Conditions" and "5.2 Installation and Connection of Gear Units and Instruments", adapted to Chapter 5, and added "Or by industry "Consultation between the two parties" and other content (see Chapter 5, Chapter 5 of the.1993 edition);
---Changed formula (3) [see formula (3),.1993 version of formula (3)];
--- Deleted "b) given the torque efficiency curve in 8.2; c) given the speed efficiency curve" (see 8.2 in the.1993 edition).
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test equipment, test requirements, test methods, test procedures, data processing, and records for the gear transmission efficiency bench And report.
This standard is applicable to the efficiency determination of gear devices with independent closed box bodies that transmit power.
This standard does not apply to the efficiency measurement of certain special units, such as compressors, pumps, and engines integrated with transmission gears, or those that do not use transmission gears. Gear devices whose main purpose is to transmit power.

3 Symbols
The symbols listed in Table 1 apply to this document.
4 Test equipment
4.1 Accuracy class
The accuracy of the testing instrument should not be lower than the level 0.5 specified in JJG924 (or equivalent).
4.2 Calibration
The test instrument should meet the requirements of JB/T 6876 and JB/T 6877.
Before testing, make preparations for the zero point adjustment of the instrument according to the operating requirements.
5 Test requirements
When the tested gear device is tested, it should be installed, debugged, and run-in according to the following requirements, and the test conditions should be determined.
a) The tested gear device should be installed and tested according to the designed power flow transmission direction.
b) The rotation direction of each extension shaft of the tested gear device should meet the design requirements.
c) The connection form of the tested gear device, test instrument and other equipment on the test bench shall comply with the provisions of Chapter 6.
d) The coaxiality error when the gear device is connected to the sensor should meet the requirements of the sensor; the weight of the coupling should also meet the transmission requirements. Requirements for the use of sensors.
e) System errors caused by power loss caused by other accessories (such as couplings, etc.) on the test bench and equipment installation errors should be considered. Rate measurement value.
f) The tested gear device should maintain the same lubrication (such as oil product, oil volume) as required by the design.
g) The tested gear device should be pre-run-in according to the design requirements.
h) The test speed of the tested gear device is selected as follows.
--- Gear devices used at a fixed speed should be designed according to the nominal speed;
---For gear devices used at non-fixed speeds, the corresponding transmission efficiency under different speed and torque conditions should be tested according to the load spectrum.
According to the actual situation, use the transmission efficiency value; in the case of no load spectrum, it should generally be based on the rated rotation of the prime mover. Speed as the test speed.
---When the user requires the efficiency to be measured at different speeds, the test speed can be determined through negotiation.
i) When testing, the value should be carried out within the design and use temperature range of the gear device and in the thermal equilibrium state. The thermal equilibrium state is determined by the following method.
---In the test, when the temperature of the gear device does not change more than 1°C within a period of 30 minutes, it is considered to be a thermal equilibrium state;
---Or according to the corresponding industry standards;
---Or negotiated by both parties.
j) During the test, when the transmission of the gear device is relatively large or the output speed is in the low-speed section, the loading device will have unstable speed and torque Certain conditions. At this time, attention should be paid to the accuracy of the test efficiency and the safety of the test device.
