Scope
GB/T 13281-2008 is the English-translated version of 铁路客车用铅酸蓄电池.
GB/T 13281-2008 specifies the terms, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage of valve-regulated lead-acid batteries used as the DC power source for lighting and other electrical equipment on railway passenger trains.
It gives the basic parameters of the 12 V models 6-TM-40 to 6-TM-200 and the 2 V model TM-450 (rated capacities at 10 hr, 5 hr and 1 hr, final voltages, maximum mass and dimensions), the model designation and the operating environment (up to 2500 m altitude, -40 °C to 40 °C).
Requirements cover appearance and cadmium marking, open-circuit voltage and capacity consistency, low temperature capacity (at -40 °C, at least 0.40 of the capacity at normal temperature), high-current discharge, charge retention (at least 96 % after 28 d), charge acceptance, overcharge, cycle endurance (at least 180 cycles), sealed reaction efficiency (at least 90 %), explosion-proof capability, acid mist, vent valve operation (1 kPa to 49 kPa), air tightness at 55 kPa and vibration, each with its test method.
It replaces GB/T 13281-1991, adopting the requirements for valve-regulated batteries and adding most of these characteristics, while deleting the sealing compound test.
