Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 12168-2006 "Shielding Covers for Live Working". Compared with GB/T 12168-2006, the main differences are structural adjustments and...
Aside from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The scope of application has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 2006 edition);
b) The definitions of "rigid shielding cover for live working," "shielding system," and "verification test" have been revised (see 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3, 2006 edition).
3.1, 3.13, 3.14);
c) The terms and definitions such as "conductor shielding cover", "pin insulator shielding cover", "tension device shielding cover", and "suspension device shielding cover" have been deleted.
(See sections 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, and 3.11 in the 2006 edition);
d) The term and definition of "tolerance test" have been added (see 3.4);
e) The structure has been removed (see Chapter 4 of the 2006 edition);
g) Added requirements for the size parameters of the shielding cover (see 5.1.2, 5.1.3);
h) Added Level 4 shield withstand voltage test parameters (see 5.6.2);
i) Increased requirements for marking durability, mechanical shock resistance, environmental adaptability, electrical properties, ozone resistance, and other special properties.
(See 5.2, 5.4, 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, and 5.8);
j) The requirements for thickness, operating positioning device, and anti-drop device have been removed (see 6.2, 6.3, and 6.4 of the 2006 edition);
k) The descriptions of mechanical impact testing and environmental adaptability testing have been revised (see 6.4, 6.5, and 7.3 and 7.4 in the 2006 edition);
l) The descriptions of validation and tolerance tests have been revised (see 6.6.2, 7.5.3 of the 2006 version);
m) The descriptions of the extreme low temperature resistance test and the extreme high temperature resistance test have been revised (see 6.8.1, 6.8.2, and 8.1 and 8.2 in the 2006 edition);
(n) Added acid and oil resistance test methods (see 6.8.3 and 6.8.4);
o) The requirements for the marking have been changed (see 8.1, Appendix C of the 2006 edition).
This document is modified to adopt IEC 61229:2002 "Rigid shielding for live working on AC equipment".
This document has undergone significant structural adjustments compared to IEC 61229:2002.A table comparing the structural numbering changes between the two documents is provided.
See Appendix A.
This document differs significantly from IEC 61229:2002.The relevant clauses are indicated in vertical margins.
Single lines (|) are indicated. A summary of these technical differences and their causes can be found in Appendix B.
The following editorial changes have been made to this document.
---To align with existing standards, the document title has been changed to "Rigid Shielding Covers for Live Working".

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 14286 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
Primarily made of insulating materials, these are rigid protective devices used to shield live or non-live components to prevent accidental contact.
Note. In this document, it is referred to as "masking mask".
Cover system
To form a continuous and larger shielding protection area, a system composed of multiple shields of the same voltage level is used.
verification test (prooftest) by evaluating the insulation performance of insulating materials or products under specified test conditions, it is demonstrated that the product's operational safety meets the applicable level.
