Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 11586-1989 "The Panama Canal Cone", compared with GB/T 11586-1989, the main technical changes

as follows.

--- Modify the type, nominal size and weight of the fairlead (see Chapter 5, Chapters 2 and 3 of the 1989 edition);

--- Increased security workloads and their tags (see Chapters 3, 5, and 9);

--- Increased strength verification criteria (see Appendix A).

This standard uses the translation method identical to the use of ISO 13728.2012 "Marine and Offshore Technology Ship Mooring and Towing Equipment Panama Cable

hole".

This standard has made the following editorial changes.

--- Correct R3 in the upper right diagram of Figure 2 as R2;

--- Added informational Appendix NA to explain the mark.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the design, dimensions and technical requirements of the Panama fairlead.

This standard applies to the design and manufacture of Panama's fairleads using steel tow cables installed on vessels passing through the Panama Canal.
