Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

This document is Part 2 of GB/T 10394 "Harvesting Machinery - Forage Harvesters". GB/T 10394 has already published the following parts.

---Part 1: Terminology;

---Part 3: Test Methods;

---Part 4: Safety and Operational Performance Requirements.

This document supersedes GB/T 10394.2-2002 "Forage Harvesters - Part 2: Technical Characteristics and Performance", and is consistent with GB/T 10394.2-Compared to 2002, aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

a) Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

b) The maximum fuel capacity in the fuel tank during transport has been changed (see 4.2.1, 3.2.1 in the 2002 edition);

c) Changed the maximum fuel capacity and required tire information for determining the height and throwing height of the feed harvester.

(See 4.2.4, 4.2.5, and 3.2.4 and 3.2.5 in the 2002 edition);

d) The standards for classifying and classifying the power take-off shaft and three-point suspension device of suspended or towed feed harvesters have been changed.

(See 4.2.10, 3.2.10 in the 2002 edition);

e) The recording requirements for the cutting frequency and stroke of the oscillating shear cutter have been changed (see 4.2.14, 3.2.14 in the 2002 version);

f) The calculation requirements for whole grain content or whole corn kernel content have been changed (see 4.3.2, 2002 version 3.3.2).

This document is modified to adopt ISO 8909-2:2021 "Harvesting machinery - Feed harvesters - Part 2: Technical characteristics and performance".

The technical differences between this document and ISO 8909-2:2021, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.

---The scope of application has been expanded (see Chapter 1);

---ISO 8909-1 (see 4.1.1, 4.2.6) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 10394.1-2025 to adapt to my country's technical standards.

Technical conditions;

---ISO 8909-3:2021 (see 4.1.2, 4.1.5, 4.2.2, 4.2.3) has been replaced by the normatively referenced GB/T 10394.3-2025.

4.2.4, 4.2.5, 4.2.9, 4.2.13, 4.2.14);

---ISO 789-3 (see 4.2.8, 4.2.9) has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 3871.5 to adapt to my country's technical conditions;

---ISO 500-1 has been replaced by the normatively referenced GB/T 1592.1, and ISO 730 has been replaced by GB/T 1593 (see 4.2.10).

1 Scope

This document specifies the performance, dimensions (defined in GB/T 10394.1-2025), and functional components of certified feed harvesters.

The methods and requirements adopted. Comparing the performance of feed harvesters through comparative tests is also permitted under this document.

This document applies to the design, manufacture, inspection, and testing of feed harvesters.
