Scope

GB 7302-2018 is the English-translated version of 饲料添加剂叶酸.

GB 7302-2018 specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labelling, packaging, transport and storage of the feed additive folic acid produced by chemical synthesis; Clauses 1, 4 and 6 are mandatory and the rest is recommended.

The product is a yellow or orange-yellow crystalline powder or fine granules, and the technical indicators are folic acid content 95.0% to 102.0% on a dry basis, moisture <= 8.5%, residue on ignition <= 0.5%, heavy metals (as Pb) <= 10.0 mg/kg and total arsenic <= 2.0 mg/kg.

Test methods cover appearance, identification by permanganate colour reaction and UV absorption ratio, assay by HPLC with nicotinamide internal standard (reference method) or by external standard, moisture by the Karl Fischer method of GB/T 606, residue on ignition, a thioacetamide limit test for heavy metals and total arsenic, with the inspection rules in Clause 6.

It replaces GB/T 7302-2008, adding fine granules to the appearance, replacing loss on drying with Karl Fischer moisture and adding limits for heavy metals and total arsenic.

Clauses 1, 4 and 6 of this standard are mandatory; the remainder is recommended.

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

This standard replaces GB/T 7302-2008, Feed additive - Folic acid.

Compared with GB/T 7302-2008, the main technical differences are as follows:

- fine granules have been added to the appearance and properties (see 4.1);

- loss on drying has been changed to moisture, determined by the Karl Fischer method (see 4.2);

- a requirement for heavy metals (as Pb) of not more than 10.0 mg/kg has been added (see 4.2);

- a requirement for total arsenic of not more than 2.0 mg/kg has been added (see 4.2).
