GB 50650-2011 is the English-translated version of 石油化工装置防雷设计规范.
GB 50650-2011 — 1.0.1 This specification is formulated to prevent and reduce equipment damage and personal casualties caused by lightning strikes, and standardize the lightning protection design of petrochemical plants and their auxiliary facilities.
1.0.2 This specification is applicable to the lightning protection design of newly built, rebuilt and expanded petrochemical plants and their auxiliary production facilities; it is not applicable to the lightning protection of crude oil collection, long-distance transportation, oil storage and sales facilities outside the petrochemical plants design.
1.0.3 The lightning protection design of petrochemical installations shall not only comply with this specification, but also comply with the current relevant national standards.
